File name was invalid or too long." Please help me as I really need to back up these music files. YOUR-8CZVOJY6X5/My Documents/My Music/i Tunes/i Tunes Music/ Another question, how long is too long for a file name?
Hi, thanks for your help, but I'm struggling to understand what exactly I'm looking for in Itunes Music Library.xml, I have found this below. Because the error message didn't tell me exactly which song it was having problems with and I have over 10,000 songs to back up.
If you right-click and rename in itunes I believe it will just give it a new name in the library but does not modify the underlying filename which is the source of the problem.
If you're not able to see the info in the xml file, please copy the text from the xml file here and I can tell you exactly what needs to be done.
Once you see what is too long --- rename it, then reassociate it in itunes.
